My daughter LOVED the Baby Einstein DVDs and CDs when she was a toddler. My husband and I enjoyed them, too, and felt that they were gentle, sweet, colorful and educational. It’s a shame that people have to be so nasty and judgmental. Children are not Made geniuses by television or educational materials, but their intelligence can be enhanced by these items along with parental participation. My daughter is 8 now and has passed on the Baby Einstein DVDs to her baby cousin…the CDs she still enjoys.

The “attacks” on the company are unwarranted.
Your company, products and advertising are superior to anything out there today with reference to children.
I guess “she” has nothing else to do with her time. Have her email me.
I’ll be glad to chat with her.
Keep it going.
Sincerely,
Stuart M. Raskin

No one has asked me to comment. No one has given me any products for review. I stand by the comments I made online regarding this situation just last night. I have a copy of my statement if you all at Baby Einstein need it!! Baby Einstein has nothing to do with wanting to make your child a genius. Anyone with the IQ of a fence post would know that!!! These are wonderful, entertaining, puppet “adventures” for babies and children…and they introduce the children to classical music, which they may not otherwise listen to, which I think in itself is reason enough to buy the DVDs!! My granddaughter (who is six now and in first grade) grew up (thus far!) on Baby Einstein DVDs and toys and picture cards…she is brilliant…BUT…are we saying she’s brilliant because of Baby Einstein videos?? No. But the love she has for classical music does make me wonder!!! As EVERYONE knows, classical music has a tendency to calm children, even those with autism. I know Ms. Clark started a wonderful company and she deserves being able to do business with Disney!! I (and my daughter and son-in-law) have NEVER read or heard Baby Einstein claiming to make your baby/child a genius!!! EVER!!!! I will testify on behalf of Baby Einstein any ol’ time…just email me!!

As an early childhood teacher with Master’s degree and 22 years of teaching experience, I would have never believed how marvelous Baby Einstein dvds are until I watched Baby Einstein Mozart with my 8 month old grandson. This was a calming, relaxing, wonderful time for the baby and me. I went home and ordered all that were then available. I would recommend Baby Einstein products to any parent, grandparent that puts first the emotional health of their baby. As the baby gets older more and more will be learned about the animals etc. First, just relax, enjoy the music, colors, sounds, characters.

I live in Australia and so am not aware of the disagreement everyone is referring to, however would like to express my delight with the Baby Einstein DVD’s and toys. Before watching the DVD’s I thought the company was about trying force learning on children before they were naturally ready (I was not a parent at this time and did not realise that every experience is a learning one for a baby), however since watching the DVD’s, leant to me by a friend, I love them. And most importantly, my baby loves them! We often watch them together, and they teach him stuff, they make him giggle, they make him move and they occupy him which was just so helpful when we first received them as he was unhappy doing anything but being carried around with either mum or dad. At first the DVD’s gave me five minute to load or unload the dishwasher or hang out the washing (he doesn’t sleep during the day either), but now as we watch them together and dance and sing, they just bring us joy, and I know they are helping him to understand the world around him. My friend has just asked for them back as she found her 20 month old responding to them at another friends house and so they will have a whole second life with their family and I am off to buy my own set. I would consider them to be the best investment I will make for him.
I should mention that he also loves his flexible ball as do all the other babies in my mothers group. Several mums have gone out to buy their own since seeing their baby’s interest in it. As for the other Baby Einstein toys I have purchased, we will have to wait until Christmas to see how much he likes them but I am pretty confident!
And lastly, if anyone knows where I can get the kangaroo puppet from the Baby’s first moves DVD please let me know…it makes my baby giggle every time.

I have a few things to add here and I hope to make them loud and clear. If anyone bought a Baby Einstein video hoping it would make their child more intelligent, then, well, they’re an idiot (perhaps THEY should have watched the videos as a young child!). I hate to be harsh, but my son absolutely loved these videos and CDs growing up. I honestly do not know how I would have lived without them. In fits of screaming, all I had to do was turn on the CD and he would stop crying instantly. I never thought for a second that the videos would make him smarter but appreciated the classical music and vivid images in the videos, as did he. If you want to raise a child who is intelligent, you have only one thing to do – look in the mirror. I am not only a mother, but a teacher, and if you want to really do something for your child, their education starts with the parent. The videos, like all teaching supplements, help enhance what you are doing with your child. I honestly believe that these groups bashing the Baby Einstein Company have nothing better to do with their time. If they have that much time on their hands, I can give them papers to grade! Perhaps they should spend less time dealing with this, and more time with their children. Then, perhaps, then wouldn’t be so grouchy about the fact that their child didn’t become instantly intelligent by watching videos. In fact, perhaps they are mad because it didn’t do the job THEY were supposed to do.

My children have been watching Baby Einstein videos and playing with your toys for years. If anything it has made quality parent/child time together wonderful. My 10 year old daughters favorite toy as a child was a Baby Einstein puppet that would would role play with the videos. She loved it. Both her and her younger brother who is 4, absolutely love the Baby Einstein sign language video. They both have learned and use sign language often due to this video. I have been and always will be a fan of Baby Einstein. I now have a Grandson that I will continue to share these products with. Thank you.
